Paeonia 'King's Day' – Bare Root
Paeonia 'King's Day' is a stunning perennial hybrid peony, renowned for its large, eye-catching blooms. The petals transition from apricot to a rosy red hue, especially noticeable in the bud stage. The flowers can reach up to 15-20 cm in diameter, making them significantly larger than typical peony varieties.
It has a mild, sweet, and pleasant fragrance. The dark green foliage provides a beautiful contrast to the light blooms, staying attractive throughout most of the growing season, even after flowering.
Blooming period: May-June
Height: approx. 80-100 cm
Hardiness: Zone 4 (5)
Location: Full sun to partial shade
Size: 3-5 eyes
If you can't plant it now, place the tuber in a plastic pot. The soil should be slightly moist, but no watering during winter. Place the pot outdoors by a wall under cover, or in an unheated shed/storage. In April-May, the peony can be planted in the garden.
Autumn planting: Dig a hole at least 50 cm deep and wide. Mix compost or rose soil with existing soil and add Zetas bulb fertilizer. Place the root at an angle with the buds facing up and cover with about 5 cm of soil. Water thoroughly.
