Paeonia lactiflora 'Black Beauty' – Bare Root
Paeonia lactiflora 'Black Beauty' features semi-double, dark bordeaux-colored flowers with a beautifully contrasting yellow center.
Plant the tuber so that the buds/eyes are about 5 cm below the soil surface. The soil should be lightly clay-rich.
Pair it with bulb flowers, Astrantia, and fall phlox for an extended blooming season.
Blooming period: July
Height: 90 cm
Location: Full sun to partial shade
Plant spacing: 90 cm
Size: 3-5 eyes
If you can't plant it now, place the tuber in a plastic pot. The soil should be slightly moist, but no watering during winter. Place the pot outdoors by a wall under cover, or in an unheated shed/storage. In April-May, the peony can be planted in the garden.
Autumn planting: Dig a hole at least 50 cm deep and wide. Mix compost or rose soil with existing soil and add Zetas bulb fertilizer. Place the root at an angle with the buds facing up and cover with about 5 cm of soil. Water thoroughly.
Pairs well with
Zetas lökgödsel
